Eco En Pointe Month: Small Steps, Big Change.

At En Pointe, we believe that little steps can lead to big changes.

This year, we are looking to launch Eco En Pointe Month, a focused month where our dancers, families and team come together to think more carefully about the small changes we can make to help protect the planet.

As a dance school, we already understand the power of progress. Dancers do not become stronger, more confident or more skilled overnight. It happens through small actions, repeated often. The same is true when it comes to caring for the environment.

Eco En Pointe Month is about showing our students that their choices matter. It is about helping young people understand that they can be part of something positive, hopeful and important.

What we are hoping to achieve

Throughout Eco En Pointe Month, we will be looking at simple, meaningful ways to make En Pointe a little greener.

We are exploring ideas such as:

Reducing unnecessary waste around the studios.

Encouraging dancers to bring reusable water bottles to class.

Looking at how we can use less water and energy in our day to day studio life.

Introducing more environmentally friendly habits across the school.

Creating a small planting project, where students or classes can plant seeds and watch them grow.

Updating our En Pointe branding for the month with fresh green touches to show our support for the environment.

Sharing positive environmental messages with our dancers and families.

Finding small ways to make our studios, shows and events more thoughtful when it comes to the planet.

This is not about being perfect. It is about making a start.

Why we are doing this

Our dancers are growing up in a world where climate change and environmental issues are part of everyday life. We want to help them feel informed, empowered and hopeful.

Eco En Pointe Month gives us the opportunity to show our students that they are never too young to make a difference. Whether it is filling up a reusable bottle, turning off a light, planting a seed or thinking twice before throwing something away, every small action can help.

We also want our families to know that En Pointe is always looking for ways to improve, not just as a dance school, but as part of the wider York community.

We teach children to stand tall, work hard and believe in themselves. Eco En Pointe Month is another way of encouraging them to care about the world around them too.

One dancer, one class, one small change at a time

Our message is simple:

Little changes can make a big difference.

We hope Eco En Pointe Month will be a positive, creative and inspiring campaign for the whole school. It will give our dancers something meaningful to be part of and remind us all that progress often starts with one small step.

Or in our case, perhaps one small plié.

We will be sharing more details soon, including how our dancers and families can get involved.

Together, we can help make En Pointe a little greener, one dancer, one class and one small change at a time.
