RAD Ballet Classes in York for Children

En Pointe provides Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) ballet classes in York for children and young people of different ages and abilities. Our qualified and experienced teachers combine structured classical ballet training with imaginative, enjoyable classes that develop confidence, coordination, musicality and strong technique.

Dancers can progress through the internationally recognised RAD syllabus, with opportunities to take examinations, develop through technique and pointe classes, and perform in our annual production at York’s Joseph Rowntree Theatre.

Students are welcome whether they want an enjoyable weekly class or hope to progress towards advanced and pre-vocational dance training. New dancers can begin with a trial class to discover the most suitable level.

Grow in Confidence

Once a term we give you the opportunity to sit in and watch the ballet dance classes. We find this really helps with encouraging the children to perform to an audience and gives the dancers confidence. It's also great for you to see progress in the ballerinas. En Pointe are proud of our quality dance teaching and we have nothing to hide.

Royal Academy of Dance Exams

En Pointe also has a 100% pass rate for its RAD exams which is a world-recognised classical ballet syllabus. One of the most highly respected qualifications in Ballet. for 2 years running all exam students received the highest marks in Gold and Silver medals.

Ballet is a great way for your child to keep fit, and strengthen core muscles and a lovely way for him/her to use their imagination through the magical world of dance. At En Pointe we encourage the dancers to do their best in class. The dancers gain a sense of self-confidence and pride in their bodies. They can accomplish anything through practice.

Dance Performance

Here at En Pointe, we love to host a dance performance every year on the stage at Joseph Rowntree Theatre. All children and teenagers are encouraged to take part and perform to an audience of friends and family. It is a fantastic opportunity and a memory that lasts forever and is not to be missed.
