Top of the Pops: En Pointe’s Show dazzles at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre

Well, what a whirlwind of glitter, music, make-up and standing ovations that was! Our latest En Pointe show, ‘Top of the Pops’, took centre stage at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre and brought the house down with four unforgettable performances across two magical nights — May 31st and June 1st.

The theme celebrated music in all its glory, and our dancers delivered with a spectacular variety of styles — from toe-tapping tap to lyrical loveliness, ballet to jazz hands, and contemporary cool to pop-powered pizzazz. With over 170 performers, ranging from our tiniest six-year-olds to our most seasoned adults, the energy backstage was only rivalled by the electricity on stage.

One seasoned staff member from the Joseph Rowntree Theatre told us it was “one of the most breathtaking and stunning performances” she’d ever seen in all her years working there.

Behind the scenes, the sheer amount of coordination, costume wrangling, and choreography fine-tuning was nothing short of Olympic. Our amazing team of teachers well and truly danced their socks off to deliver a show that looked every inch the professional production it was. And with almost a sell-out crowd, it seems the audience felt the magic too.

We’ve been absolutely bowled over by the lovely messages from parents, grandparents, and audience members. Thank you for your kind words, cheers, claps, and occasional high-pitched whoops. you made it all worth it.
