SCL Education offers a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice with funding from SCL.

Dance Diploma, BTEC in York, Performing Arts at En Pointe

At En Pointe Studios, we offer a full-time, 2-year education program specialising in Ballet, Contemporary, Musical Theatre and more. This BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma is an equivalent to 3 A-levels and is worth up to 168 UCAS points.

To become a part of SCL Education Performing Arts, interested students should submit their interest to college@enpointeyork.co.uk and will be asked to send in a video audition as part of their application. After acceptance, they can enrol at En Pointe Studios, which is a specialised dance studio designed for dance and performing arts. The study program will be conducted by proficient artists and performing arts teachers via SCL Education Performing Arts.

The staff at SCL Education Performing Arts will oversee the quality assurance of the BTEC education program and work closely with performing arts specialists to help learners reach their full potential and attain top grades.

All students will receive equal privileges as any other Further Education learner. These privileges include student bursaries (if eligible), UCAS guidance, pastoral care, educational support, Further Education enrichment programs, and GCSE re-sit opportunities (if necessary).

As part of their BTEC program, learners will participate in a comprehensive enrichment training program that is specific to the industry. This will enhance their learning experience by exposing them to a variety of disciplines in dance and musical theatre. 

In order to enrol in this educational program, aspiring students must audition and meet the requirement of having achieved 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or higher, including math and English. Upon successfully passing the audition, students can proceed with their application to SCL Education Performing Arts and En Pointe studios.

In order to complete the BTEC level 3, students will undergo assessments that include practical performances, rehearsals, training sessions, controlled assessments, and assignments. The successful completion of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Dance will enable students to advance to university and/or apply to specialised performing arts schools.

Your assessment will come from various sources such as videos of your training and performances, witness testimonies from assessors, work diary and log books, and peer observation.
